SAN ANTONIO – Move over, Valentine’s Day — Galentine’s Day is this week, and there are several events and deals around the Alamo City to celebrate with your closest friends.
While Galentine’s Day is traditionally celebrated on Feb. 13, the spirit of the holiday can be embraced anytime throughout February.

From astrology readings to a “Gal-entine-a-rita,” check out these upcoming Galentine’s events and specials in San Antonio:
Aldaco’s Mexican Cuisine, 20079 Stone Oak Parkway, is hosting a Galentine’s Heart Piñata Bash on Thursday, Feb. 13. A heart-shaped piñata smash will take place at 7 p.m.
The restaurant will also be offering a three-course dinner for two from Feb. 13 to Feb. 15 for $68, with Valentine-themed cocktails ranging from $12 to $14.
Color Me Mine, 11255 Huebner Road, Ste. 108, is having a Galentine’s party hosted by San Antonio’s Romance Book Club. The event is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13.
Event highlights include book and pottery giveaways, a blind date with a book raffle, chocolate and treats and BOGO studio fees for painters.
Romance suspense author Laura Mowery will also be in attendance to meet guests, sign books and share her latest work. The first 10 guests will receive a free studio fee and a signed copy of Mowery’s prequel novella.
The event is BYOB. No reservations are needed.
Dorrego’s at Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, 150 East Houston St., will be offering a Galentine’s Day brunch with mimosas from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16.
The event features a live DJ and a professional astrologer offering personalized readings.

JAAB Medspa, 1602 McCullough Ave., will be offering exclusive specials at its Galentine’s Day party from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
Customers can receive a BOGO hydrafacial or 20 units of Botox free with the purchase a Kysse lip filler. There will also be local vendors, a gift basket raffle and more.

Maria Bonita Restaurant, 350 Northaven Drive, is having its second annual Galentine’s Day happy hour from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13.
There will be a DJ, 360 photo booth and free rosé for guests while supplies last.
Rock & Brews, 5702 Landmark Parkway, is offering a Galentine’s and Valentine’s Day deal. For every $25 spent, guests can receive $25 back in Brew Bucks.
The deal lasts from Thursday, Feb. 13 to Feb. Saturday, 15.
Rosario’s, 722 S. St. Mary’s St., will have a “Gal-entine-a-rita,” made of Carabuena Tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, prickly pear and a pink candy rim.
The special cocktail is only available from Feb. 13 through Feb. 16. The restaurant will also have a Valentine’s weekend special of chile relleno de pescado y camaron.
Sammy Snacks, 7222 Blanco Road, is hosting a Galentine’s Lotería and trivia night. The event will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 13.
There will be snacks and complimentary wine. Anyone who invites a friend will receive a free Lotería card.
