The giveaways start Friday, April 4, when the Rangers will be handing out retro arcade bucket hats on a first-come, first-serve basis.
ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers start spring training Wednesday in Surprise, Ariz., which means the season is just over six weeks from getting underway at Globe Life Field. Texas hosts the Boston Red Sox on Opening Day on March 27. But the real fun start the next week, when the club’s loaded theme and community nights schedule gets underway.
Let’s be honest. Free stuff will always get a few extra fans out to the ballpark.
The giveaways start Friday, April 4, when the Rangers will be handing out retro arcade bucket hats on a first-come, first-serve basis. The next night, the club will be giving away a Marcus Semien retro 8-bit hoodie jersey, to match the bucket hat. Saturday, April 5, is also TCU night at the ballpark with Horned Frogs football coach Sonny Dykes throwing out the first pitch.
Here’s the full schedule of theme night and community night giveaways.
Let’s rank the top theme night giveaways!
(Note: This doesn’t include community nights, like TCU night, which will include some type of school or community-related swag if you purchase a ticket through the community night offer):
8. Elv1s N1ght
There’s only “one” No. 1 when you think of Texas Rangers lore. Elvis Andrus played more games in the Texas uniform than any player in franchise history, and also stole more bases. Andrus officially retired last year and will be inducted into the Rangers Hall of Fame on June 28, the same day as his hat giveaway.
Giveaway night: June 28
7. AEW Wrestling Night championship belt
OK, so it’s a fanny pack, not a full-on wrestling belt. But still pretty cool, right? The AEW night at the ballpark is ahead of AEW’s All In: Texas event at the stadium on July 12.
Giveaway night: July 2
6. Corey Seager Superman bobblehead
A fitting player for a Superman bobblehead. The Rangers haven’t released a photo of this one just yet, but they say the July 20 giveaway will be an “exclusive, illuminated, Corey Seager Superman Bobble.” Illuminated? Sounds like it has potential.
Giveaway night: July 20
5. Jake Burger Whataburger jersey
When you sign a player named Jake Burger, and Whataburger is a club sponsor, you simply have to create a Whataburger jersey bearing his name. The Rangers had a similar jersey giveaway for Josh Jung last year. Let’s hope Burger stays healthy this time around.
Giveaway night: April 29
4. Mando Kumar Bobblehead
You don’t have to like Star Wars to appreciate a nice “May the 4th” Star Wars Day giveaway. This year, the Rangers have designed a Mandalorian-themed bobblehead for Kumar Rocker, their up-and-coming ace pitcher.
Giveaway night: May 4
3. Glizzy Hat
The hat says it all. And honestly, it looks pretty great. You’ll be able to snag the hat, and a hot dog, for a total of $1, as the giveaway comes on Dollar Hot Dog Night. Also, Texas Live! is hosting a hot dog eating contest before the game.
Giveaway night: April 30
2. True Brand 1985 Road Grey Day hat
Is the upside-down lettering polarizing? Love it or hate it, it’s hard to deny the sleek coolness of the Rangers blue and red on their road grays. It all comes together for a pretty solid hat, for free.
Giveaway night: April 6
1. World Series replica rings
OK, these aren’t a new giveaway, although there’s a new element to the replica rings this year. And if you didn’t get one in 2024, just know this: This is no cheap plastic knockoff. The replicas feel heavy like a real ring, and have a nice sparkle as well. One of the better giveaway items in recent Rangers history, and not just because it was to commemorate a World Series title.
This year, the replica rings will again be a different player each time the giveaway is held. But the twist is that the top of the rings will now flip open, just like the rings the players received for winning the World Series in 2023. Last year’s replicas didn’t have that feature.
Giveaway nights: May 1 (Seager), June 19 (Semien), Aug. 6 (Carter), Aug. 13 (Bochy), Sept. 10 (Jung).
