FC Dallas adds more youth, depth to its backline with newest signing

 

The 24-year-old center back will occupy an international roster slot.

FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas announced Tuesday that the club has signed center back Osaze Urhoghide to a four-year contract through 2028 with a one-year club option for 2029.

Urhoghide, 24, comes from Ligue 2 side Amiens SC and will occupy an international roster slot, pending receipt of his P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC), club officials said in a release. 

Urhoghide’s transfer represents the highest transfer fee ever paid for a defender in FC Dallas history, the club said.

Ligue 2 is the second-tier soccer league in France, and Urhoghide made 41 appearances for Amiens SC from 2023 to 2025. before that, he played for now-defunct Belgian club KV Oostende in 2022-23 and Scottish powerhouse Celtic FC in 2021.

Urhoghide is the ninth defender on FC Dallas, after the club signed Lalas Abubakar from Colorado Rapids and brought back FC Dallas academy product Shaq Moore in the offseason. Here is a look at the roster as of Feb. 11:
