DPS: 69-year-old on Texas’ 10 most wanted criminal illegal immigrants list ‘captured’ in Houston

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A 69-year-old man who was on the Texas 10 most wanted criminal illegal immigrants list was “captured” in Houston last week, the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a news release.

The man, Armando Flores Aguilar, was wanted since September 2024 on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child out of Bastrop County, the release said.

Flores Aguilar was taken into custody by DPS special agents, Texas highway patrol troopers, as well as the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force, according to DPS.

Flores Aguilar “was removed from the United States in September 1999,” the release said.

“In May 2024, he was arrested by the Bastrop Co. Sheriff’s Office for continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14. Flores Aguilar was later released from jail on bond,” DPS said.

This has been an effort funded by Gov. Greg Abbott’s public safety office, which gives Texas Crime Stoppers cash rewards for anyone who provides information that can lead to an arrest of either the 10 most wanted fugitives, sex offenders or criminal illegal immigrants.

“So far in 2025, DPS and other agencies have arrested nine Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, Sex Offenders and Criminal Illegal Immigrants, including two sex offenders and three criminal illegal immigrants – with $15,000 in rewards being paid for tips that yielded arrests,” DPS said.

Tipsters can provide information to authorities using the following steps, outlined by DPS:
