The department said the sergeant was found to have violated departmental policies and procedures.
CROWLEY, Texas — A Crowley police sergeant has been arrested and charged with misuse of official information after the department found he had violated departmental policies and procedures, police said.
According to the Crowley Police Department, Sgt. Kevin Morris, 31, was arrested by the Texas Rangers on Feb. 19.
The department conducted its own investigation independent of the Texas Rangers and found Morris had violated department policies and procedures, the department said. As a result of the findings, Morris was also fired. Details about the violations were not immediately clear.
Morris was taken to the Tarrant County Jail without incident but was later bailed out.
“The Crowley Police Department is comprised of dedicated men and women who serve with exceptional integrity, professionalism, and accountability,” the department said in a statement. “The department is committed to holding its members accountable for failing to meet the high standards expected of a Crowley police officer.”
