AUSTIN (KXAN) — Capped by a 4-1 win Sunday, No. 16 Texas swept Dartmouth in its first home series to move 5-1 this season.
Texas pitching allowed three hits, striking out six Big Green hitters and giving up a first-inning run on a groundout. Freshman Dylan Volantis picked up the win in relief, pitching the final 4 2/3 innings and allowing one hit with four strikeouts and no walks in 42 pitches.

Sophomore second baseman Ethan Mendoza was tremendous from the No. 9 spot in the batting order, going 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. He hammered a solo home run down the right-field line in the fifth inning to give Texas a 2-1 lead, and then his single up the middle played Tommy Farmer IV in the eighth to make it 4-1. Max Belyeu had an EBI single in the third inning to tie the game at 1-1 and Farmer scored a run with a single in the sixth.
Texas picked up a 4-3 win in the series opener Friday and a 3-2 win Saturday. Kimble Schuessler had three hits in the opener and Adrian Rodriguez went 2-for-3 Saturday. The freshman from Flower Mound has 10 hits this season and leads the team with five doubles.
Texas (5-1) ends a 5-game homestand against Incarnate Word on Tuesday and then heads to Las Vegas Ballpark for the Las Vegas Classic starting Friday where they’ll face Washington, Texas Tech and Illinois.
