No injuries were reported from either incident, airport officials confirmed.
ARLINGTON, Texas — Back-to-back in-air emergencies led to two landings at Arlington Municipal Airport, officials confirmed.
According to the Arlington Fire Department, units were responding to the first incident, a plane that landed safely after experiencing engine troubles, when a second plane reported that its landing gear would not deploy.
Because the landing gear continued to malfunction, crews prepared for an emergency gear-up landing as the pilot circled the airport, burning off excess fuel, the department said. According to Arlington FD, their department responded with four fire engines, a ladder truck, a battalion chief and a shift commander, and Arlington EMS had three ambulances prepared.
The pilot was able to safely perform the landing without the landing gear, and neither pilot from either aircraft was injured, the department confirmed.
