The driver, Amil Ramos, 39, of Longview, got into a vehicle and drove away slowly while he was intoxicated, police said.
LONGVIEW, Texas — An East Texas man was arrested Wednesday after police say he led officers on a slow chase while he was intoxicated.
According to Longview Police Department spokesperson LaDarian Brown, officers first responded to a criminal trespass call at the Longview Mall around 5:45 p.m. The man at the center of the call, who was identified as Amil Ramos, 39, of Longview, got into a vehicle and drove away slowly.
Ramos was ultimately arrested and taken to the Gregg County Jail on several existing warrants, driving while intoxicated, evading arrest with a vehicle and resisting arrest. He remains jailed as of Thursday afternoon, according to online records.
