2 dead after two-vehicle crash in Nacogdoches County

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas — Two people are dead after a two-vehicle collision in Nacogdoches County Wednesday. 

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Preston Alfred, 35, of Montalba, was driving west and Nathalie Arnold, 87, of Douglas, was going east on FM 225, west of Nacogdoches, around noon. 

Alfred failed to drive in a single lane, left the roadway to the right, over-corrected, crossed into the eastbound lane and struck the Ford, DPS said. Alfred was pronounced dead at the scene, and Arnold of Douglas was taken to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

DPS said the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
