No injuries reported in structure fire on County Road 2202 near Tyler

   

A married couple was in the house and able to escape with two out of three of their dogs, with one dying inside the home, Smith County Fire Marshal Chad Hogue said.

TYLER, Texas — Fire crews responded to a structure fire on CR 2202 in Smith County.

The fire was reported around 11:55 a.m. Saturday. A married couple was in the house and able to escape with two out of three of their dogs, with one dying inside the home, Smith County Fire Marshal Chad Hogue said. The woman living in the home had her hair singed and was taken to the hospital.

Eyewitnesses on social media reported visible smoke from Tyler near I-20.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but a preliminary investigation indicates the fire may have started in the garage.
