DownDetector, a website that tracks platform outages, recorded a spike of more than 33,000 reports of Hulu outages right at the start of the show at 4 p.m. Pacific, 7 p.m. Eastern.
Hulu has addressed the issue in a post on X, writing, “Having issues logging in? If so, we’re on it! Our team is actively investigating, and we hope to have things back up and running soon.”
This year is the first time the Oscars are being streamed live on Hulu. Ironically, the night’s first winner was from a movie currently streaming on Hulu. Kieran Culkin won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his role in “A Real Pain.”
