DALLAS — An 18-year-old has been arrested on a murder charge in the 2024 shooting death of another teen, according to the Dallas Police Department.

Jose Fuentesaguero was named the suspect in an update from police Wednesday, according to a news release. He was already in the Dallas County Jail on unrelated charges, police said.

Khamoni Williams, 18, was fatally shot on July 18, 2024, according to a previous update from police.

Officers had responded around 11:25 p.m. to a shooting call in the 11300 block of Amanda Lane in the Lake Highlands area. When they arrived, they found Williams shot on the ground, police said. Williams was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Police have not released more details about the shooting.

Fuentesaguero also faces charges of evading arrest, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and unlawful carrying of a weapon, according to jail records, but it’s unclear what those charges stem from. He was initially booked into jail on Feb. 27.

Williams was a graduate of a Conrad High School in Dallas, according to the Lake Highlands Advocate

“He was a valued student, and his loss is deeply felt by all who knew him,” Rita Jones, a teacher at Conrad, wrote on a GoFundMe page at the time, according to the Advocate. “He was my school son, and I loved him like one of my own.”
