GARLAND, Texas — Garland Police arrested Shango T. Knight, 24, and charged him with murder for shooting and killing Malron Murray, 22, on March 6.
According to a news release from the Garland Police Department, on that day, officers responded just after 2 a.m. to the report of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 200 block of East I-30.
Police said officers found Murray suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics were called and took him to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.
According to Garland PD, during their investigation, it was discovered that Murray and Knight knew each other. Police said investigators believed that the two were “involved in a disturbance,” and it ended with Knight shooting Murray.
On Tuesday, March 11, police said Knight was arrested after a murder warrant was issued for him. He is currently being held at the Garland Detention Center on a murder charge, with his bond set at $1.5 million.
Garland PD said the investigation is still ongoing.
