CARTHAGE, Texas — The Carthage Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a person involved in a recent hit-and-run that injured a child.

According to the CPD, on Sunday, around 6:40 p.m., 5-year-old was driving a motorized scooter attempting to cross the roadway in the 100 block of E. Ash St. The family identified the boy to CBS19 as Jude Brown.

While this was happening, witnesses say a red Cadillac DTS with paper tags hit the scooter and left the scene. The driver of the vehicle reportedly got out of the vehicle, looked at the boy, failed to provide their information or help the child and drove off, according to the boys father, Nathan Brown.
