2025 Dallas Cup: Here’s everything you need to know about the prestigious youth soccer tournament

 

The Dallas Cup 2025 begins this weekend, hosting nearly 500 teams from April 13 through April 20 after expanding its girls’ divisions.

DALLAS — The 2025 Dallas Cup, the United States’ most prestigious youth soccer tournament, kicks off this weekend.

It will take place from April 13 through April 20, welcoming close to 500 teams from all over the world. This year, the Dallas Cup significantly grew its girls’ divisions, following the acquisition of the Dallas International Girls Cup in the summer of 2024.

Dallas Cup officials said they expect over 300 boys teams to compete in the 2025 tournament. In 2024, a record 284 total teams (boys and girls) played. In 2025, close to 500 total teams are expected to compete in the invitation-only tournament. 

Sunday marks the opening day of the tournament, which will feature a marquee triple-header at the historic Cotton Bowl Stadium and the annual Opening Ceremonies and Parade of Teams. Here is a look at the opening day schedule: 

  • 12:30 p.m. – U19 Dallas Cup Girls: Australian School Girls (AUS) vs. FC Dallas ECNL (TX)
  • 3:00 p.m. – U19 Gordon Jago Super Group: São Paulo FC (BRA) vs. Newcastle United (ENG)
  • 5:00 p.m. – Opening Ceremonies and Parade of Teams presented by Whataburger
  • 6:30 p.m. – U19 Gordon Jago Super Group: Real Madrid CF (ESP) vs. CF Monterrey (MEX)

2025 Dallas Cup: How much are tickets? Where to buy?

Tickets for opening day are on sale at www.dallascup.org. Prices range from $22 for adults to $13 for youths aged 13 and under, with complimentary admission for children aged 5 and under.

The 2024 tournament drew $38 million in economic impact.

Over the course of the past 40-plus years, several of the world’s most prestigious clubs have participated in the Dallas Cup, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, River Plate, “Chivas”, Flamengo, Boca Juniors, Club America, PSG, and AC Milan, and more.

Some of soccer’s biggest stars competed in the Dallas Cup as youth players, including David Beckham, Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey, Wayne Rooney, Chicharito, Ricardo Pepi, Alphonso Davies, Bukayo Saka, and Weston McKennie. Between players and referees, 50 Dallas Cup tournament alumni were featured in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
