A Dallas real estate developer bought Donald Trump’s $10M private jet

As Donald Trump works to liquidate assets to pay for his piling legal fees to fight criminal charges and a judgment north of $450 million against him, the presidential candidate put one of his private jets on the market. The newest owner is a Dallas-Fort Worth real estate magnate and major Republican donor.

Public filings link the CEO of Centurion American Development Group Mehrdad Moayedi as the buyer of the 1997 Cessna Citation X jet, worth between $8.5 and $10 million, according to an estimate from evoJets, a private aviation company. The presidential candidate still owns his main Boeing 757 jet, nicknamed “Trump Force One,” that he used for travels during his 2016 campaign.

While the terms of the transaction aren’t confirmed, Federal Aviation Administration records show that the aircraft’s registration changed from the Trump Organization’s DT Air Corp to MM Fleet Holdings LLC, a Texas entity that shares Centurion American’s address, The Daily Beast first reported. Moayedi could not be immediately reached.

Moayedi is a stalwart Republican financial supporter, donating $100,000 to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton amid the impeachment trial in Austin last year, Gov. Greg Abbott and various conservative national political action committees. He’s also developed homes and commercial projects across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including buying the Mesquite Rodeo facility and Dallas’ historic Statler hotel.

Federal Election Commission records show that Moayedi donated a combined $245,000 to Trump’s re-election campaign in 2019 and 2020. Moayedi also donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to other campaigns, including Ted Cruz’s Senate re-election campaign and the Republican National Committee.

Moayedi’s firm announced last month an 836-acre development of roughly 1,100 luxury single-family homes in northwestern Fort Worth and is responsible for the $230 million renovation of downtown Dallas’ landmark Statler Hotel.
