Agents seize $48 million worth of meth hidden inside heads of lettuce at the Texas border

   

Agents at the Texas border made a huge bust recently after discovering 3,400 pounds of methamphetamine worth an estimated $48 million hidden inside of an 18-wheeler.

The hiding spot for this vast amount of drugs?  Inside heads of lettuce.

Port Director for Hidalgo, Pharr and Anzaldua Carlos Rodriguez in a statement per MySA.com, “Our CPB officers remain vigilant and intercepted this massive methamphetamine load from reaching American streets.

“Congratulations to our diligent officers who made this record-breaking interception!”

According to a statement from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, this bust marks the largest methamphetamine seizure in the history of the Hidalgo Port of Entry.
