SAN ANTONIO – Alamo Drafthouse, which has two movie theater locations in San Antonio, laid off corporate and hourly employees, a company source confirmed to KSAT 12 News on Wednesday.
According to the source, 15 corporate employees working in the support and engineering departments were let go due to “restructuring business.”

The source confirmed that hourly employees were let go locally but declined to say how many people in all were affected and at which locations.
KSAT asked for additional context into the layoffs, but the source declined further comment.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the reason behind the company’s layoffs was due to “slow months at the box office” during the post-holiday period.
For those who lost their jobs, the source told KSAT that they were eligible for rehire in the future.
