Alleged drunk driver arrested after crashing and killing another driver in Grand Prairie, police say

 

According to police, the driver who was killed was traveling with hazard lights on and at slower speeds.

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — The Grand Prairie Police Department said it arrested 20-year-old Hector Garcia for drunkenly crashing into another car and killing the driver Saturday morning. 

According to police, around 1:40 a.m., a car was traveling north in the 4500 block of S. Highway 360 at Green Oaks Boulevard with hazard lights on and at a slower speed. 

Police said Garcia, in a GMC SUV, hit the car from behind, killing the driver in that car. 

According to police, Garcia was believed to be intoxicated during the incident so he was arrested for intoxication manslaughter. 

Police said Garcia is being held at the Grand Prairie Detention Center with a bond of $200,000. 

The Grand Prairie Police Department said the identity of the driver killed will be released by Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office at a later date.
