A&M men’s basketball releases tough 2024-25 non-conference schedule

Texas A&M men’s basketball has released its non-conference schedule for the 2024-25 season, the Aggies announced on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

Coming off of their second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, the Aggies are continuing their recent trend of tough non-conference scheduling: A&M will face five power conference teams, not including the Players Era Festival MTE, with those games still TBA.

The Aggies open the season on Nov. 4 with a road trip to Orlando, Florida to face Big 12 opponent UCF. That’s followed by a four-game homestand at Reed Arena consisting of Texas A&M-Commerce, Lamar, Big Ten opponent Ohio State and Southern.

A&M will spend the Thanksgiving holiday in Las Vegas, where it’ll play three games in the new Players Era Festival, a landmark in-season tournament that will provide opportunities for teams to compete in NIL events off the court — and features a loaded field with six of the eight teams involved making a 2024 NCAA Tournament appearance.

Next, A&M welcomes ACC opponent Wake Forest to Reed Arena on Dec. 3 as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge. That’s followed by a pair of power conference neutral site contests against Texas Tech at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth and Purdue at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The non-conference slate finishes up with a pair of home games against Houston Christian on Dec. 20 and Abilene Christian on Dec. 28, before the Aggies open SEC play in January.
