COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The Texas A&M women’s tennis team was honored Tuesday afternoon for their 2024 National Championship.

Texas A&M University President Mark Welsh, A&M women’s tennis head coach Mark Weaver and senior Carson Branstine all gave remarks.

The Aggies won their first title in program history after beating Goergia 4-1 on May 19 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

“What a nice turn out we had here,” Coach Weaver said. “This is actually a bigger group than I thought we might have. It’s just great all the support and all the excitement, so happy we’re able to bring a national championship home to Aggieland. Everywhere you go in town people coming up to you and congratulating you, and (I’m) just so happy for our girls that they’re able to win a title this year.”

A few athletes weren’t able to make the celebrating including Mary Stoiana and Mia Kupres who are playing in a pro event currently.
