CLOVIS, N.M. – An AMBER Alert was issued Friday for a 10-month-old who was last seen with her mother before the mother was found dead in a park, New Mexico authorities said.
The Clovis Police Department said it received a 911 call from someone around 4:30 p.m. Friday who said they found two women with apparent gunshot wounds and a 5-year-old child with a head injury at a park five miles north of Clovis.

When officers and first responders arrived, they found the woman and child. Authorities said both women were pronounced dead at the scene. Clovis EMS attempted to save the female child, first by rushing her to a nearby hospital and later transferring her to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas.
Police on the scene also said they found an infant car seat, an infant stroller, and a baby bottle, which caused officers to begin a search for an infant.
The adult victims pronounced dead at the park were identified as 23-year-old Samantha Cisneros and 23-year-old Taryn Allen of Texico, N.M. After interviewing family members, Clovis police determined that Cisneros was the mother of the injured 5-year-old hospitalized in Texas and a 10-month-old identified as Eleia Maria Torres.

Investigators believe Torres was abducted and in serious danger, which led to the AMBER Alert being issued.
Torres is 2 feet, 4 inches with brown hair and brown eyes, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children said on its website.
During a Sunday news conference, law enforcement officials said they spoke with witnesses at the park and watched surveillance video. The women and children went to a drive-in and a dollar store before they went to the park, KCBD reported.
The 5-year-old girl continues to receive care in Lubbock, Clovis Police Department Deputy Chief Trevor Thorn told reporters Sunday.
