ROCKWALL, Texas — IKEA is bringing another store to North Texas, and now we know when.
The Swedish-founded home furnishings retailer will open a new store in Rockwall in December 2025, according to a press release from the company Tuesday.
The store will be located at the corner of Stodghill Road and Interstate 30, where a new development of retailers and multi-family properties is in the works, according to city council documents posted online.
IKEA already has stores in North Texas in Grand Prairie and Frisco. It also has a smaller location in Southlake.
“Our expansion goal is simple. We will be where people are, whenever and however they want to experience IKEA,” Javier Quiñones, CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer, IKEA U.S., said in the release. “We have been testing different store formats to increase customer convenience, make home delivery more cost-efficient, and reach our customers where they live, work, and socialize. IKEA Rockwall represents a key milestone in this ongoing journey.”
IKEA offers a range of home furnishings, including beds and sofas and various appliances. The store is also famous for its Swedish Deli — the meatballs in particular — and that will be included in the Rockwall store.
Ikea U.S. reported about $6 billion in retail sales in 2023 and has been expanding, reportedly opening 71 new sales locations around the world last year, according to their website. Ikea opened its first U.S. store more than 30 years ago.
Ikea isn’t the only retailer with designs on Rockwall. H-E-B plans to open a store there on the southwest corner of John King Boulevard and I-30.
