As the coronation of Kamala continues within the Democratic Party, there is another reality to look at, were she to garner an election victory in November. We would need to ask how much of Joe Biden’s cabinet she would retain, and based on what we know of Harris, whether her choices for any replacements could be even worse.
One constant in Joe Biden’s administration has been a consistent lack of accountability. Despite a lengthy list of failures and issues of a troubling nature besides Kimberly Cheatle of the Secret Service, you would be hard-pressed to find anyone else who was forced to step down over job performance. (There was one exception: T.J. Ducklo, who was forced to leave the communications team in the early days after he was found to be threatening a female journalist, but he was even brought back onto the Biden election team.)
One of the hallmarks of this administration is that it is populated by those with a horrendous track record while serving the White House. Right now, Harris is under the spotlight, but she is not the only person being heralded despite being a failure. Looking over the roster of Biden appointments, you have a Murderer’s Row of names whose careers would be dead in any other scenario. We should be very concerned should Kamala extend the careers of the following people.
Lloyd Austin
Our military over the past couple of years has been in shambles. Start with the extraction from Afghanistan where tens of billions of dollars of military equipment and ammunition were abandoned for the terrorists. Over the past few years, Defense Secretary Austin has turned the armed forces into a woke laboratory where special interests rule, standards have been altered to appease these individuals, and outreach has been made to tout the woke nature of today’s military. Recruitment has hit basement levels, and a recent promotion with the United Football League saw millions spent to end up with a drop in sign-ups.
Merrick Garland
Many thought this appointment to the Department of Justice was Biden’s way of poking the eye of Republicans for not allowing his appointment to SCOTUS. Since he was installed, Garland has followed Joe Biden’s orders and resorted to lawfare to get Donald Trump ensnared in four separate indictments. Garland’s DOJ also arrested journalist Steven Baker over spurious January 6 charges. Recently the DOJ charged a Texas doctor for exposing a hospital violating standards by performing gender-affirming surgeries on minors.
Anthony Blinken
As secretary of state, about the only thing Blinken has stood out for doing is playing classic rock guitar cover songs. Otherwise, he has overseen the fiasco in Afghanistan, ushered in the Russian conflict with Ukraine, and has been entirely ineffective with brokering anything with the Israel-Hamas war. More than just a neutered agent, in the latest news we see utter incompetence, as it was discovered the State Department failed in vetting relief funds to Afghani interests, getting fleeced for well over $100 million by the Taliban.
Alejandro Mayorkas
This is a man who embodies the upward career track of failure like few others. On the consummate disaster alone that is managing our southern border, this man running the Department of Homeland Security should be chased out of town by a crowd with pitchforks and torches. But his charge also oversees the Secret Service;Mayorkas was about the only person who had praise for Kimberly Cheatle after the attempt on Donald Trump’s life. He also pushed the lie of the border agents whipping immigrants and he punished those involved, even after he had been informed of the story being disproven. He also was behind the fiasco of the Disinformation Governance Board, when he tapped Nina Jankowicz to combat misinformation; that effort was shut down after just three weeks…due to claims it was affected by misinformation on social media.
Pete Buttigieg
The man running the Department of Transportation, who was ridiculed upon appointment, has proven that early derision was well-founded. Pick a mode of transportation and you are likely to find a debacle has been in place. Gas prices have been steadily high to unmanageable. The airline industry has had more than its share of fiascos, from regular system delays and shutdowns to the FAA looking to become a DEI nightmare. In his signature screw-up, it took Secretary Pete nearly a month to visit East Palestine, Ohio, after the disastrous train derailment.
Jennifer Granholm
The energy secretary’s main objective in being given the job has been the focus on electric vehicles. (Note that her personal wealth is tied to the market.) The EV industry has been a complete failure, with automakers moving away from that costly boondoggle. One highly touted municipal bus factory has gone bankrupt despite subsidies and government contracts. Granholm has been pushing the completely nonsensical concept of making our military fleets – including tanks – run on electricity. After billions of taxpayer dollars spent to create a network of EV charging stations, years later it led to just seven installed. The strategic oil reserve has become drained as Joe Biden has flailed to get gas prices lower.
Janet Yellen
Hailing from The Fed, Treasury Secretary Yellen has been overseeing this disaster of an economy – and has tried to tell us everything is just swell. She downplayed food prices rising and backed up Biden’s claim this was all due to greedy corporations, not the jolt of inflation or Secretary Pete’s mismanagement of the nation’s shipping lanes. (See above entry.) Yellen said that the sharp rise in interest rates was good for the country. The unemployment numbers have been artificially buoyed by government jobs and the creation of part-time work, something that even Fed chief Powell has pointed out. She has presided over an economy that has performed so poorly that the Democrats declared that the term “Bidenomics” could no longer be used.
Despite matching Harris in terms of quality, Americans will be a prolonged dose of suffering should Kamala keep any of these Biden team names on board for an additional term.
