Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and Caleb Martin ready to win with the Dallas Mavericks

The three were seen together during their first press conference with the Dallas Mavericks.

DALLAS, Texas — Almost a week ago, the news of one of the most shocking trades in NBA history happened. Luka Doncic. Anthony Davis.

The blockbuster trade that brought Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks was one that no one saw coming and some are still struggling to accept it.

“I’m very disappointed, in disbelief… I won’t ever be a Lakers fan,” said Dwane Coaston.

“It’s kind of like your ex going to another person, and you’re just watching them succeed,” said Jimmy Vo.

While some are skeptical, others are embracing the change.

Davis, along with Caleb Martin and Max Christie, sat down for their first press conference as Mavericks.

“I was shocked at first and mentally just all over the place. I didn’t believe it actually at first,” said Davis. “I get who Luka was to this franchise, to this city. I’m never going to downplay that.”

Despite the initial emotions, Davis and his new teammates are focused on winning a championship.

“I’ll try to lead this team to some wins and to some championships,” Davis promised.

One of the things each player is looking forward to is digging deeper into the city of Dallas and meeting people in the community.

“I’ve heard great things about this city, about the community, and I’m looking forward to getting myself into that, “said Christie.

While this trade may never fully make sense to some, one thing is clear; Anthony Davis is ready to prove himself in Dallas.

Davis will make his debut when the team returns to the American Airlines Center on Saturday against the Houston Rockets, Davis confirmed in Friday’s press conference.
