Maybe, as Jim Croce sang (sorry, youngsters), “You don’t mess around with Jim,” but in today’s rough-and-tumble world of hard-core politics, you don’t mess around with Ben. Ben Shapiro, that is, the brilliantly articulate, intellectually honest conservative political commentator, media host, attorney, columnist, and author. Or, in this case, you sure as hell don’t toss out red left-wing meat for Shapiro to attack.
This time, in two brutally correct tweets.
Our story begins with the Associated Press, in full display of its political-correct wokification credentials, predictably singing the praises of the Federal Reserve, as out-of-control inflation continues to soar, “compliments of the disastrous policies of equally-woke Joe Biden and the Democrat Party:
Leadership at the Federal Reserve has become its most diverse ever. There are more female, Black and gay officials contributing to the central bank’s interest-rate decisions than at any time in its 109-year history.
Yup, nothing better says “eye on the ball” when praising the Federal Reserve System, often referred to as the Federal Reserve or simply “the Fed,” the central bank of the United States, created by Congress to provide the nation with a safer, more flexible, and more stable monetary and financial system.
Upon seeing AP’s glowing praise of the Federal Reserve, Shapiro stepped up to the plate with a couple of tweets, of his own, mockingly lauding the Fed for “doing a bang-up job.”
Ouch. And it couldn’t be more richly deserved.
Next up, Shapiro “unfairly” played the reality card, putting AP’s idiocy into proper perspective with one simple fact, replete with satire:
“Sure, inflation is at a 40-year-high, but doesn’t it make you feel better that those in charge are sexually and ethnically diverse?” — Stupid people
Shapiro drops the mic; confidently strides off stage, mission accomplished.
As reported by my RedState colleague Brad Slager last Thursday, Shapiro’s brief appearance at a Podcast Movement conference in Dallas caused a hyperbolic meltdown on the lunatic left. Conference organizers promptly issued an apology. Shapiro’s crime? Being there.
Meanwhile, inflation.
As my colleague Nick Arama reported in early August, while July inflation was pegged at 8.5 percent, it was down slightly from June’s 9.1 percent — likely caused by a drop in gas prices. Biden being Biden, he not only rushed to take a victory lap; the liar-in-chief and his advisors falsely claimed there was “zero inflation” during the month, simply because inflation didn’t increase as much as in June.
Even more ridiculously, as I reported in July, Biden incredulously blamed Republicans for runaway inflation, his equally ridiculous “Putin’s price hikes” nonsense was laughingly dismissed, which even the Fed chairman in effect called BS.
The bottom line.
The left’s narrative, while it remains potent among low-information liberals, is beginning to crack, for one simple reason: it’s a crock of crap that doesn’t stand up to facts. Even in the lapdog liberal media, we see signs of that reality.
As I also reported on Tuesday, the latest example comes from NBC News, where nervous execs have reported decided to kick “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd to the curb due to the show’s continuing miserable ratings. As we also reported, while CNN finally axed the irrepressible leftist Brian Stelter, The Most Trusted Name in News(TM) [ROFL emoji], is likely not yet finished with its purge of Democrat lapdogs.
And Ben Shapiro? Dude is a conservative machine — fearlessly fighting the good fight.
