AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas fell from the top spot to No. 5 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 college football rankings after a 30-15 loss to Georgia on Saturday .
Oregon moved up to the top spot with 59 of a possible 61 first-place votes while the Bulldogs rose three slots to No. 2 with the win in Austin. The Ducks are the fourth team this season to claim the No. 1 ranking, and it’s the first time the program has been on top since 2009. Penn State and Ohio State held their spots at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively.
Miami, Tennessee, Louisiana State, Clemson and Iowa State rounded out the top 10. The Volunteers moved up four spots after a 24-17 win over Alabama. The Crimson Tide dropped eight spots to No. 15 with the loss.
Texas A&M kept on the winning track with a 34-24 victory over Mississippi State to stay unbeaten in SEC play, but they held their position from last week at No. 14.
Vanderbilt, Texas’ opponent on Saturday, moved into the rankings for the first time since 2013 at No. 25.
