VAN ALSTYNE, Texas (KXII) – The three suspects who fled authorities in Oklahoma early Tuesday morning to Texas have all been apprehended in Van Alstyne.
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Public Safety, the Van Alstyne Police Department, and multiple other local agencies worked together to find the three suspects, who were taken into custody around 8 a.m.
The pursuit started around 4:30 a.m. with the Lighthorse Police Department following the suspects as they fled to Texas.
According to the Choctaw Nation Lighthorse Police, the pursuit started after an alleged attempted theft at Choctaw Casino and Resort.
Lighthorse Police said they were called in after the suspects were confronted by security guards.
Van Alstyne Police found the pursuit vehicle and saw the suspects running into the woods. The vehicle was spotted by US-75 and FM-121 with the suspects believed to be near Jim Jones road.
Police used drones, thermal, and a canine unit to help find the suspects, and a Texas DPS helicopter came out to help with the search.
The suspects were identified as Brian Luna, 24, Jesus Luna, 31, and Leon Villa, 23, and they were all charged with evading arrest in Grayson County.
Two of the suspects are facing felony assault charges in Oklahoma.
One suspect had a tampering with evidence charge filed against him in Grayson County.
All three suspects were treated by EMS and taken to the Grayson County Jail.
Van Alstyne High School was on lockdown until 10a.m. In the same area, and Grayson College’s South Campus delayed classes until 10 a.m.
