Arrested North Texas pastor, school board president rubbed against 16-year-old girl from behind, affidavit says

The affidavit obtained by WFAA on Thursday outlined the allegations, saying the girl was standing near a table when “she felt someone push up against her.”

DALLAS — The North Texas pastor and school board president accused of indecency with a child allegedly rubbed his penis against the victim over her clothes at a church event, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by WFAA on Thursday.

Drew Wilborn, the president of the Prosper Independent School District board and a former pastor at Antioch Church in Dallas, was arrested Wednesday in the case.

The charge stems from an alleged incident with a 16-year-old girl in April 2022, police said.

The affidavit obtained by WFAA on Thursday outlined the allegations, saying the girl was standing near a food table when “she felt someone push up against her.”

“The complainant stated that she moved and saw the suspect rubbing against her,” the affidavit said.

The girl “did not think much about the incident” and went to sit down, the affidavit said.

As she approached the table again, she told police that “someone brushed against her again” and that she saw the suspect.

“The complainant state there was plenty of space to walk around her,” the affidavit said. “The complainant stated the suspect rubbed his erect penis against her butt over her clothing.”

When investigators asked the girl how she knew it was the suspect’s penis, she replied, “nothing else feels that way,” the affidavit said.

The girl said the suspect then gave her an “unwanted hug, grabbed her waist, and did not let go,” according to the affidavit.

The girl then went to a restroom and sent a message to a friend about what happened. She then spoke with a youth pastor at the church, and the pastor reported the incident to the girl’s mother.

The church also contacted Dallas police, and the department’s child exploitation unit investigated the case.

During the investigation, more allegations against Wilborn emerged.

Detectives interviewed an Antioch Church employee, who alleged that Wilborn harassed her at work, calling her, “Baby Mama.”

He also tried to kiss her and, in one instance, rub her feet, the affidavit said.

In another situation, the employee told police that Wilborn saw a tag that was showing outside of her pants. He then “pushed the tag back inside her pants with his finger touching the top of the witness’s butt,” the affidavit said.

The employee filed a complaint with the church’s human resources department, and the board of trustees reviewed it. Wilborn remained employed at the church, the employee told police, but she was moved to someone else’s supervision.

Police interviewed a board member, who said he had heard rumors that Wilborn had been “too friendly and touchy,” according to the affidavit.

The board member said the board sustained the employee’s complaint about Wilborn. In another instance, a deacon at the church reported that Wilborn sent direct messages on social media to his niece.

Antioch officials in a statement Thursday said they “learned about the allegations regarding Drew in April 2022” and that they “immediately notified the Dallas Police Department” and suspended him.

“Since that time, the decision was made to terminate Wilborn from his role with Antioch Church,” the church statement said. “We condemn abuse in any form and are profoundly committed to the safety and welfare of our entire church community. In addition to policies in place to protect men, women and children who attend Antioch Church, we require all our staff and volunteers to undergo rigorous screenings, including regular criminal record and background checks, and complete mandatory training to help maintain a safe environment.”

According to his biography on the district’s website, Wilborn was elected to the school board in 2021. He and his family moved to Prosper in June 2017.

In a statement to WFAA, Prosper Mayor David Bristol said: “These allegations of this type of behavior are abhorrent. We trust law enforcement officials to handle this investigation thoroughly and appropriately.”

In an unrelated incident earlier this school year, a Prosper ISD bus driver was accused of sexually assaulting two young sisters over the course of a year.
