SAN ANTONIO – A man died at the hospital after San Antonio police found him shot in the neck in a car outside of a Southeast Side apartment complex.
The shooting occurred just after 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 6800 block of Pecan Valley Drive, not far from Brooks.

On Thursday, the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as 64-year-old Johnny Johnson.
According to SAPD, officers found Johnson slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle in the parking lot of the complex with a gunshot wound to the neck.
Johnson was taken to the hospital, where he later died, police said.
The medical examiner’s office said Johnson died from the gunshot wound to his neck. His death was ruled a homicide.
SAPD did not immediately indicate details as to how Johnson was shot or have any information on a potential suspect.
