KEY POINTS:
-
Feels like summer
-
Hot, but no triple digits
-
Daily showers along Coastal Plain, most of us miss out
FORECAST DETAILS:
We’ve had seven triple digit days so far this year, but the foreseeable future will remain in the mid 90s for afternoon highs. However, the humidity will play a role causing heat index values between 102° and 105°.
Pop-up showers are likely east of San Antonio between I-37 and I-10 pretty much every afternoon, but most of us will remain dry. The upper-level “heat high” will eventually move enough to open the door for Gulf moisture and rainmaking energy by early July, but despite the door being open, there are no indications of available energy and moisture.
The movement of the “heat high” will also help steer a bit of African Dust our way by the weekend.
