CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A second Coastal Bend baby under 2 years old has died in a hot-car death within 24 hours.
A 9-month-old baby was found in a car in Beeville, Beeville Police Department Chief Kevin Behr confirmed to 3NEWS on Wednesday, within 24 hours of a 22-month-old being found dead in a car in Corpus Christi on Tuesday.
It happened at about 8:30 a.m. in the 100 block of E. Flournoy.
The baby was in its grandmother’s care, and the woman went into her home, leaving the baby in the car.
It was found at about 4 p.m., Behr said.
The scene is being treated as a crime scene, he said, and Texas Rangers will be assisting with the Beeville PD’s investigation.
