A resident of Beaumont has anonymously claimed a $1 million prize in the Texas Lottery’s 200X scratch-off game after buying it in the city’s north end.
BEAUMONT, Texas — Someone in Beaumont got lucky recently and won $1 million after buying a $20 Texas Lottery scratch-off ticket in Beaumont’s north end.
A Beaumont resident claimed a $1 million top prize in the Texas Lottery’s 200X scratch ticket game after purchasing the winning ticket at Fuzzy’s at East Lucas Dr and Concord Rd, lottery officials announced Tuesday morning. The winner chose to remain anonymous.
This was the third of four available $1 million top prizes claimed in the 200X game, which “offers more than $96.1 million in total prizes,” Lottery officials said in a news release announcing the big win. The overall odds of winning any prize in the game are one in 3.39, including break-even amounts, according to the release.

The Texas Lottery, operated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, has generated more than $41.5 billion in revenue for the state since 1992 and has awarded more than $93.5 billion in prizes. Since 1997, it has contributed over $35.5 billion to the Foundation School Fund, which supports public education.
As authorized by the Legislature, certain lottery revenues also benefit state programs, including the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance, according to the news release. “Since the first veterans’ themed scratch ticket game was launched in 2009, the Texas Lottery has contributed more than $279 million for programs supporting Texas veterans,” the release said.
