In November, Paul’s team called claims that the fight was rigged “illogical” and “incorrect and baseless.”
WASHINGTON D.C., DC — Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are catching criticism online after the pair posted a video partying together at Trump’s inauguration ball with the caption “best friends.”
P aul and Tyson fought each other live (with severe buffering issues ) on Netflix, which reportedly drew 65 million concurrent viewers at its peak. The fight was also credited as the biggest gate in the history of combat sports in Texas.
The official scorecard reads a victory for Paul over Tyson by unanimous decision – but the claims that the fight was rigged quickly followed. A few weeks later, Paul’s representatives denounced the claims, calling them “illogical” and “incorrect and baseless.”
In the video posted from Trump’s gala, Tyson is seen on Paul’s shoulders as the duo – along with others in their circles – party the night away.
The mood in the comment section of the video was a little less “cheer-y.”
“They played us for millions,” wrote one Instagram user, in response to the video of Paul and Tyson.
“They should be best friends, they performed a classic heist,” another commenter said.
“Business partners,” someone else said.
“We didn’t even pay, but I feel like somehow they still robbed us,” the comments continued.
Other celebrities seen with Paul included his brother, Logan, mixed martial artist Connor McGregor, podcaster Theo Von, and Nelk Boys founder Kyle Foregard, among others.
