Biden Goes Into Pandering Overdrive With ‘Origin Story’ at Stonewall Visitors Center in NYC

Coming off his disastrous debate on Thursday night, Joe Biden and his team were trying to do a lot of clean-up and pandering on Friday.

Biden was in North Carolina earlier in the day where he admitted he didn’t do well in the debate, but tried to argue at least he knew how to tell the truth, forgetting about his mountain of lies that he told. The worst of them was claiming he hadn’t lost any troops during his time occupying the Oval Office. That straight-up ignored members of the military who were killed, directly because of his bad policies.

Biden also had incoherent and screaming moments during the campaign event.

Biden then went on to New York for a commemoration of the Stonewall Riots, as part of his recognition of Pride Month.

He started off with a weird jog and a sniff of Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY):

You know any group he’s talking to, he has to drop a Joe Biden origin story of how he is related to them. In this case, he told the tall tale of his “epiphany” about gay men loving each other:

Even the Washington Post has said this story “doesn’t add up,” and that it keeps changing; in one version, Biden is the father telling it to his son. It was very unlikely in 1961. But beyond the question of it being another lie, if this was his “epiphany” moment, then why wasn’t he for gay marriage from the time he was in high school? In fact, he didn’t come out for gay marriage until he was vice president.

His record is not at all in accord with this claim.

In 1996, Biden, then a Democratic senator from Delaware, voted infavor of the Defense of Marriage Act,which declared that states were not required to recognize same-sex marriages performed in another state and defined marriage as being between a man and a woman.

Two years earlier, Biden wason board with a measureproposed by Republican Sens. Robert Smith of New Hampshire and Jesse Helms of North Carolina that cut federal funds to schools that taught acceptance of homosexuality.

In 1973, a dozen years after he graduated high school, Biden told his Delaware constituents thathis “gut reaction”to a question about gays working for the federal government was that they would be “security risks.” [….]

“Look, marriage is between a man and a woman and states must respect that,” Biden continued at the time. “Nobody’s violated that law, there’s been no challenge to that law. Why do we need a constitutional amendment? Marriage is between a man and a woman.”

He’s also told the story about one of the men walking toward the Hercules building, which wasn’t built until 1983.

So, this is just base pandering for votes:

No, it’s not just one bad night, this is everyday confusion with Biden.

What the heck was Joe doing wandering around behind Elton John? Didn’t he know where he was supposed to stand? Was he lost again? It appeared he looks down for his mark, and then realized he’s in the wrong place:

Biden then tried to praise Elton for his remarks, and it looked like John wasn’t all that interested in sticking around to talk to Joe:

Maybe he was remembering history accurately, unlike Joe Biden:
