BIDEN PARDON: Karine Jean-Pierre May Have Just Given the Most Shameless Press Conference Ever

It’s been nearly a week since President Joe Biden pardoned his degenerate son, and the White House is finally getting around to answering questions on the matter. When Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre took the podium on Friday, she did so in the face of over a year of falsehoods told by her and the administration regarding the matter. Would the press let her off the hook?

The short answer is no, and we’ll get to the clips momentarily. It should be mentioned, though, that Jean-Pierre tried to duck the issue by refusing to call on Fox News and other more critical outlets.

Other reporters did pick up the slack, and Jean-Pierre proceeded to turn in perhaps the most shameless press conference in presidential history. That included lying about a poll, claiming that 64 percent of Americans approved of the pardon. The actual number? 34 percent.

MILLER: And they were told by you in July that this would not happen, and it did. I’m asking for yourself, not for the presidency but for yourself. Do you feel like you are owed an apology by the president, and do you owe an apology to the American people?

JEAN-PIERRE: Zeke, I just laid out the president’s thinking. The president laid it out in his own words. He laid out how he wrestled with this decision. He said in his statement, as a president, as a father, how difficult it was to make this decision. He thought about it this weekend, he did. He thought about it this weekend, he wrestled with it, and there are some, you know, factors, some real factors that he took into consideration, and that’s why I keep saying folks just take a look.

Take a look. Read, read his statement, and I know what I said, I know what the president said. That is where we were at the time. That is where the president was at the time. I am his spokesperson. This weekend, he thought about it, he wrestled with it, he wrestled with it, and made this decision. That’s what I can tell the American people.

MILLER: Why should they have any confidence in anything else you’ve said?

JEAN-PIERRE: I think the American people understand, and I think they understand how difficult this decision would be, and I would actually add, and I think it’s important to note here as you’re asking me these questions, important questions to ask, that there was a poll, a US gov poll, and some of you all reported on it, and it said that 64 percent of the American people agreed with the pardon.

Perhaps Jean-Pierre doesn’t understand how lying works, but if you repeatedly tell the American people that the president is unequivocally not going to do something and then he does it, that means he (and she) lied. If there was still a decision to be made, which is what she’s suggesting, then she and the administration had no business insisting a pardon would happen under no circumstances. They don’t get to have it both ways.

As to the garbage about how Biden “wrestled with it,” making it sound like he was deciding whether to declare war or something, it’s the same insulting, schoolmarm schtick Jean-Pierre has propagated since becoming press secretary. While she talks down to people, the rest of us know Biden was always going to pardon Hunter Biden because we aren’t idiots. This was planned from the moment he pleaded guilty (and was convicted in the other case), and the White House decided to mislead the public for political gain.

Regarding the “poll” she cites, she’s talking about the YouGov poll, and she’s conflating 64 percent of Democrats with the entirety of the American people. As I noted earlier, the actual number for everyone is just 34 percent approval, and when she pressed again on lying about the pardon, Jean-Pierre got testy.

Truly, she is the worst press secretary to ever stand behind the podium. We are talking about psychotic levels of lying, to the point where I’m not sure even Jen Psaki would have given that performance. I’ll never understand how someone can lie like that and not feel guilty. Does Jean-Pierre not have the capacity to feel shame?
