BLANCO, Texas – UPDATE – 3/11/25, 8:37 a.m.: According to the City of Blanco’s Facebook page, a water main break has been fixed.
As of 8 a.m. Tuesday, the city said the issue that shut the city’s water down has been resolved. However, officials are now asking residents to boil their water for the next 24 hours.

According to the City of Blanco’s Facebook, a water main break that forced a citywide water shutdown is still ongoing.
On Monday, Mayor Mike Arnold posted a video saying that crews were still working to fix the problem and, barring further issues, they expected it to be fixed in the next couple of hours.
However, the mayor said once the issue was resolved, the city would be under a boil-water notice for 24 hours.

There has been no update on the city’s social media on whether the water main break has been fixed.
One local business in Blanco County, Main St. Donuts & Kolaches, decided to close on Tuesday due to the water issue. According to their Facebook, they will re-open on Wednesday.

City crews have been working on the water main break located at the intersection of Pecan Street and Fourth Street since Monday afternoon.
In a 2:20 p.m. video update posted to Facebook, Blanco Mayor Mike Arnold said those crews were originally working to replace “old fire hydrants.”
“It’s (sic) connected to a very old stretch of the water main, and when they were working on (it), the whole water main broke,” Arnold said in the update. “This is the main line that feeds the city.”

Arnold said the water main would be fixed in another “six to seven hours,” which means residents could be without water until approximately 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
