(KXAN) — A line of strong to severe storms is moving into the Hill Country this evening, expected to sweep west to east across the area through the later part of this evening into tonight.
Damaging winds, isolated tornadoes and hail are all possible within this line of storms.

8:50 p.m.
“Storms continue to move east of the I-35 corridor into the Coastal Plains tonight,” the weather service said. “The strongest storms seen on radar are still capable of producing strong winds and hail around an inch.”
8:45 p.m.
The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Austin-metro has expired.
The Austin Energy outage map showed there were 45 active outages and 1,583 affected customers.
8:30 p.m.
The Austin Energy outage map showed there were 58 active outages and 1,666 affected customers.
8:20 p.m.
The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport said it was on a ground stop due to the thunderstorms in the area.
Severe Thunderstorm Warnings (orange) continue for most of our eastern counties until 8:45 p.m. Threats include damaging winds and small hail.
8:10 p.m.
The Austin Energy outage map showed there were 56 active outages and 1,461 affected customers.
Austin Community College’s Round Rock & Eastview campuses are closed beginning 8:15 p.m. due to storm-related power outages. ACC said the campuses are expected to reopen at regular hours Friday.
“All other ACC campuses continue to operate on a regular schedule,” ACC said.
8 p.m.
The Austin Energy outage map showed there were 58 active outages and 1,523 affected customers.
The weather service said the Severe Thunderstorm Warning includes Seguin, Lockhart and Gonzales until 9 p.m.
7:55 p.m.
Close to 2,000 customers are without power in Williamson County.
NWS said strong to severe storms were moving across the I-35 corridor with strong wind gusts and some hail being reported.
Meteorologist Kristen Currie said as of 7:55 p.m., severe wind gusts in Central Texas were:
Camp Mabry: 54 MPH
Austin Berg: 58 MPH
Burnet: 62 MPH
San Marcos: 56 MPH
Llano: 54 MPH
7:45 p.m.
The Austin Energy outage map showed there were 17 active outages and 233 people without power.
The weather service said the Severe Thunderstorm Warning now includes San Antonio, New Braunfels and San Marcos until 8:45 p.m.
The STW for Austin, Round Rock and Georgetown was extended to 8:45 p.m.
7:30 p.m.
The Austin Energy outage map showed 209 customers were without power.
A new Tornado Warning for Milam County was issued until 8 p.m.
7:15 p.m.
A Tornado Warning was issued for Williamson County.
7:10 p.m.
NWS said a Severe Thunderstorm Warning now included Boerne, Fair Oaks Ranch and Lakehills until 8:15 p.m.
San Saba and Mason were dropped from a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.

6:55 p.m.
The weather service said there was a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for the entire Austin-metro area, which includes Austin, Round Rock and Cedar Park until 7:45 p.m.
“Severe Storms starting to push eastward into Williamson and Travis County. Damaging wind gusts to 60 mph and quarter size hail possible,” the weather service said.
6:45 p.m.
A Tornado Warning is in effect for eastern Lampasas County until 7:15 p.m.
6:20 p.m.
The weather service said there were Severe Thunderstorm Warnings for much of the Hill Country through 7:15 p.m.
“Damaging winds of up to 60 mph and hail to quarter size is possible,” NWS said.
6:15 p.m.
NWS said a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Blanco, Burnet, Gillespie and Llano County until 7:15 p.m.
“Concerns: quarter-size hail & 60 MPH winds. Storm moving east at 50 MPH,” the weather service said.
6:10 p.m.
NWS said a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Marble Falls, Kingsland and Burnet until 7:15 p.m.
6 p.m.
NWS said a Severe Thunderstorm Warning now includes Fredericksburg, Stonewall and Morris Ranch until 6:45 p.m.
“This storm will contain wind gusts to 70 MPH!” NWS said.
The weather service said the Severe Thunderstorm Warnings continue for San Saba until 6:15 p.m. and Lampasas until 7 p.m.
“Concerns: quarter size hail & 70 MPH winds,” NWS said.
5:40 p.m.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Llano and Gillespie County until 6:30 p.m. for 1″ hail (quarter size). Storm moving east at 50 MPH.
NWS said winds of up to 70 mph in northern Gillespie and much of Llano County are expected.
5:10 p.m.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 10 p.m. for most of Central Texas, including the Austin-metro area. A watch means the ingredients are right for severe storm development.
5 p.m.
“Significant wind gusts occurring behind the cold front as it races eastward. We’ve now had an 81mph gust at Comstock and at 73 mph gust at Del Ro Intl. Blowing dust and reduced visibilities will be common. Slow down and take your time if you are out driving in these conditions,” the NWS said.
3:30 p.m.
Pflugerville ISD said it would be canceling all after0-school activities and events due to the weather.
The City of Austin said it would be opening short-term safe havens.
“The City of Austin will extend the hours of dozens of Parks and Recreation and Public Library facilities this evening, March 2, to help anyone needing a safe place to wait out the expected thunderstorm,” the city said.
3 p.m.
Austin ISD said it was canceling all outdoor after-school activities Thursday evening and advising after-school providers to move activities indoors.
“Campus and after-school care pickup times remain the same,” AISD said.
2 p.m.
Round Rock ISD said all of its after-school and extracurricular activities were canceled for Thursday.
10 a.m.
Hays Consolidated Independent School District announces that it will end all after-school activities by 6:30 p.m. in anticipation of inclement weather.
The district said some activities may be canceled entirely, and to check with your campus or activity sponsor if you have an event on the calendar.
