BOO-tiful newborns at Methodist Children’s Hospital celebrate first Halloween

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio’s smallest trick-or-treaters are dressing up for Halloween a few days early at Methodist Children’s Hospital.

The newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit wore handmade costumes by nurses and volunteers with Threads of Love, a nonprofit organization.

According to Methodist, staff members celebrate this tradition every year to help give joy to the newborns’ families as they receive treatment in the NICU.

“Having a child in the NICU can be stressful for parents and loved ones. This annual festive tradition helps families and NICU staff celebrate the holiday,” the hospital said in a statement.

Some were dressed as Super Mario Bros. and Pacman characters, princesses, bumblebees, sweet treats and more.
