We’ve seen it all too often—biological males competing, and winning, against female athletes.
I remember about 10 years ago arguing with a liberal relative and I said, just you watch, men in women’s sports is going to be the next “thing,” that’s where this is going. He looked at me wide-eyed with indignance and declared, “That’s just crazy. That’ll never happen!”
And yet here we are, and I have yet to receive an apology.
Meanwhile, it’s déjà vu all over again: a high school male placed first in the Oregon state championship over the weekend. The only problem? It was a girls’ race.
According to progressives, the athlete has no competitive advantage over female opponents. Tell that to the judge:
Boos rained down as the runner crossed the finish line.
Were they booing because they were full of hate or because they had a personal vendetta against someone who may be a perfectly nice human being? No, most of them are booing because they know what they are watching is patently unfair and just plain wrong.
The runner had been placing well throughout the event:
Aayden Gallagher, of McDaniel High School, won the state title by two-tenths of a second. Gallagher was also booed while crossing the finish line of the race.
Gallagher also had the best time of the preliminary heats in the event.
The sophomore also ran the fastest 400-meter prelim, but lost the final of the 400-meter by 0.15 of a second.
The meet took place in Eugene, Oregon, the same stadium where the U.S. Championships and Olympic Trials take place.
Where this thing gets goofy is when you read the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) rules for student participation in sports—they say one thing while their policies do the exact opposite.
“The OSAA endeavors to allow students to participate for the athletic or activity program of their consistently asserted gender identity while providing a fair and safe environment for all students,” the policy stated. [Bolding mine.]
“As with Rule 8.2 regarding Duration of Eligibility / Graduation, rules such as this one promote harmony and fair competition among member schools by maintaining equality of eligibility and increase the number of students who will have an opportunity to participate in interscholastic activities.”
Wait, you just said the goal is to provide a “fair and safe environment for all students,” but in the next breath, you condone a policy that is neither fair nor safe for female students. We’ve seen numerous injuries that females have suffered from biological men playing against them, so no, that’s not safe, and we’ve also seen a number of biological males dominating females in various sports, so no, that’s not fair.

Progressives will tell you that they’re full of love and acceptance and that those who object to biological men competing against females are defined by hate and intolerance. The truth is far more simple, however—the left, as they often do, are trying to blur the lines between right and wrong. Men competing against women without their consent is obviously unconscionable to most people alive on the planet today, yet somehow, a tiny minority of extremists has been able to exert their far-left viewpoints on the rest of us.
The only good news: the American people are waking up to it.
