Border Patrol Officer Blasts Harris/Biden Admin on Border Failures

Our republic’s borders, in particular the southern border, are utterly out of control and have been for some time. We’ve been beating the drum on this issue, but some of the most powerful voices speaking on this issue are those charged with enforcing our border laws.

Zachary Apotheker is one of those voices. He has been a Border Patrol officer since 2020, and it’s something of an understatement to say that he’s fed up with the Harris/Biden administration’s deliberate ignoring of the crisis.

A frustrated Border Patrol agent said the Harris-Biden administration has turned his job into a migrant concierge service — and he fears that the crisis at the besieged southern border is only going to get worse.

Zachary Apotheker, who has been a Border Patrol agent since 2020, told The Post that he misses what his job used to be — busting big drug loads, apprehending illegal crossers and protecting Americans.

“I don’t want to bring people into the country. That’s not what I signed up to do,” Apotheker, 31, said.

The agent, who has worked at both the southern and northern borders of the US, confessed that he has witnessed the mass catch-and-release of illegal migrants he says have been improperly vetted under President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Officer Apotheker is right to be concerned. The number of people that have entered the country illegally, not only allowed but encouraged by the Harris/Biden administration, is nothing short of shocking.

Since January 2021, more than 8 million migrants have crossed the southern border — including killers, rapists, terrorists and gang members, such as those from the violent Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua.

More than 1.7 million “gotaways” have also illegally snuck over the southern border without being apprehended during the Biden administration, according to Border Patrol data.

Apotheker said the names of victims of violent migrant crime — including Kayla Hamilton, Laken Riley, Rachel Morin and Jocelyn Nungaray — now “haunt” him.

Those names should haunt all of us. They should particularly haunt Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, but in the first case, it’s clear she doesn’t care, while in the second, it’s very likely he is no longer capable of understanding the problem.

What should also bother us, of course, is the impact these policies have on small communities all over the fruited plain where these illegal aliens are flooding into – places like Aurora, Colorado, and Springfield, Ohio, among others. The Harris/Biden administration is not only doing nothing – they have thrown open the floodgates.

This lack of action cannot be attributed to mere incompetence. All the Harris/Biden administration has to do in this matter is rely on the training and professional abilities of those charged with enforcing immigration law and the border. The administration has, however, inexplicably decided to deliberately ignore immigration law, to refuse to enforce such laws, and to force those charged with protecting the border to instead serve as safeguards and facilitators for millions entering the country illegally.

And, as we must always remember, we have little or no idea who many of these people are, where they are coming from, where they intend to go, or what they intend to do when they get there. We are being set up for something bad, and whether that setup is due to incompetence or maliciousness doesn’t matter; the result will be bad either way.

America should be listening to voices like Zachary Apotheker. He knows what the job is and he’s willing to do it, but his own national command structure won’t allow it. This is political malpractice of the first water, and must be rectified come November. The republic simply cannot tolerate four more years of this.
