Border Patrol rescues drowning woman attempting to cross in Rio Grande

   

LAREDO, Texas — A U.S. Border Patrol Marine Unit rescued a drowning woman attempting to cross the Rio Grande, officials said.

The Laredo Sector Marine Unit was on patrol when they observed a group of non-citizens attempting to cross the river. A woman in the group began to drown, and the crew quickly pulled her out of the water. The female subject was unresponsive, but after quick medical aid by the crew, she regained consciousness.

Apprehended subjects were taken into custody and processed accordingly, according to a statement from the U.S. Border Patrol Laredo Sector.
