BREAKING: Blue Alert issued for man who allegedly fatally shot Texas deputy serving warrant

   

HOUSTON, Texas — Authorities have issued a Blue Alert for a suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy who was serving an arrest warrant on the man earlier today, January 15, 2025.

The alleged suspect, identified by police as  56-year-old Robert Lee Davis III, also known as Sean Christopher Davis, was last seen on foot in the 9300 block of Stella Link Road in Houston at 11:45 a.m. on January 15, 2025.

Davis is described as a Black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue “Nike” hoodie with white lettering, blue jeans, and blue sneakers.

Authorities advise the public not to approach Davis and to call 911 if he is seen.

The fallen deputy was identified during a press conference Wednesday afternoon as Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jesus Jesse Vargas, a 17-year veteran of the department. Officials say Vargas was shot in the head while he and his partner were serving the arrest warrant.

Vargas had been assigned to a U.S. Marshal’s Task Force and was performing those duties at the time of the shooting.
