SAN MARCOS, Texas – Buc-ee’s, a popular gas station, is heading to San Marcos.
The travel center announced there will be a groundbreaking ceremony for the San Marcos store at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, according to a press release.

Once finished, the 74,000-square-foot store will be located at Yarrington Road and S. Interstate 35 South Frontage Road.
The new store will have 128 fueling positions and all the favorite snacks and meal options, such as Beaver nuggets and jerky.
“The Buc-ee’s mantra is ‘exceed expectations;’ this San Marcos location is a special step for us in that regard,” said Stan Beard, Buc-ee’s director of real estate and development, in the release. “The San Marcos store will help us provide the ultimate Buc-ee’s experience to all I-35 travelers, north and southbound!”
According to the release, the San Marcos store will also employ at least 200 people.
In 2024, Buc-ee’s broke ground on its first locations in Virginia, Mississippi, and Ohio, the release added. The travel center also began construction on its third locations in Georgia and Tennessee.
