BULLARD, Texas — A Bullard man accused of enticing a child, grooming and other crimes was arrested Wednesday after multiple children were found in a location that was not their home.

Randy Smith is charged with enticing a child, harboring a runaway, two counts of grooming, tampering with a witness and six counts of purchasing alcohol for a minor.

Bullard police arrested him Wednesday afternoon. He was booked into the Smith County Jail on bonds totaling $1.475 million.

On July 25, Bullard police officers were working to find a juvenile who was reported as a runaway. When deputies arrived to the scene, they found multiple juveniles at the location, including the reported runaway, who did not reside there. Officers contacted the children’s parents and they were released to the parents from the scene.

“Further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the runaway brought forth evidence that criminal offenses had occurred. Detectives were able to obtain enough information to complete arrest affidavits and arrest warrants for Smith,” Bullard police said.
