Calvert City Secretary arrested, accused of tampering with government records

CALVERT, Texas (KBTX) – The Calvert City Secretary was arrested last Thursday and charged with tampering with government records, KBTX has confirmed.

According to probable cause documents, Rose Jones, 76, intentionally entered a ruling for a citation “without the effective consent or knowledge of the Calvert Municipal Judge.”

The paperwork states, “Jones dismissed a citation without authority from the municipal judge and set a dismissal fee.”

The act was documented as occurring on both 6/25/2024 and 6/27/2024, according to the arrest report.

KBTX spoke with the Calvert City Administrator on Tuesday to determine if Jones was still employed but was not given an answer or any other information regarding the case.

Online arrest records from the Roberston County Sheriff’s Office show Jones was booked on September 26 and bonded out on the same day.
