New York Attorney General Letitia James campaigned on the theme of “getting Trump,” and since taking office, she seems singularly obsessed with doing just that. In one of the more perverse examples of Democrat lawfare gone wild, James took Trump to court and won a $454 million judgment against him for allegedly inflating the value of his real estate portfolio.

There were no victims in the case, and no banks or other creditors claimed they were victimized, yet Judge Arthur Engoron somehow thought taking massive amounts of Trump’s money would somehow bring justice. Trump has appealed the ruling, calling it just another example of the many “FAKE POLITICAL PROSECUTIONS (PERSECUTIONS!)” that Democrats have brought against him.
Then, in November, after winning the presidential election, Trump’s lawyers asked James to vacate the judgment altogether and dismiss all claims against the president-elect in the interest of ending partisan strife.

But James has no interest in ending partisan strife; in fact, she seems to live for it, and on Monday, she told Trump to take a hike:

She intends to proceed full speed ahead despite the fact that tens of millions of Americans just voted for Trump to be the commander-in-chief:
James’ office argued that presidents do not have immunity from civil litigation arising from unofficial conduct, and said lawsuits “may proceed while the president is in office.”
James’ office also argued that the final judgment does not impact any conduct Trump may undertake as president. They also said Trump’s inauguration is “irrelevant to the 14 other defendants found liable in our case.”
James’ office also said that they are now waiting for a decision on Trump’s appeal, and said waiting for that decision on the civil matter “does not in any way affect Trump’s ability to serve as president.”
Interestingly, one of James’ Twitter/X accounts says, “Fighting for the change that New Yorkers deserve.” Tell me, Ms. James, what “change” are you accomplishing here, and how will it make life better for a single New Yorker?
Does this seem like a judicious person to you who is just interested in “justice?”

Letitia James joins Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in the company of “New York’s worst people.” They politicize the justice system and divide the citizenry. This type of lawfare, and people like James, are exactly what voters made very clear in the November elections that they are sick and tired of.
