Central Texas school districts are monitoring weather conditions and we’re already starting to see some closures in the area.
AUSTIN, Texas – Central Texas school districts are monitoring weather conditions and many have decided to cancel or delay school.
All districts and schools are listed in alphabetical order below.

Austin ISD
Austin ISD is canceling all extracurricular and after-school activities on January 30, including after-school care. Dismissal will be at normal time.
All AISD schools and offices are closed Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, and all classes are canceled.
The district is still monitoring the weather and will make a decision about Thursday at a later time. FOX 7 Austin will update as soon as that information becomes available.
Austin International School
Austin International School will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 31 and Wednesday, Feb. 1 due to wintry weather conditions.
Austin Community College
All ACC campuses will close beginning 8 p.m. Monday, January 30, and remain closed through Wednesday, Feb. 1, due to severe winter weather conditions across the region.
Out of an abundance of caution, and to keep everyone safe, all in-person and remote classes and work are canceled.
AESA Prep Academy
AESA Prep Academy will have remote learning on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
Bastrop ISD
Bastrop ISD has canceled all after school activities on January 30. STARS will also be closed. However, students will be dismissed at regular time on Monday.
Additionally, all classes have been canceled for Jan. 31 and February 1, including STARS.
Baylor University
Baylor University (Waco campus) will hold classes via remote instruction all day on January 31 and February 1.
Brentwood Christian School
All after-school activities have been canceled for Jan. 30.
Additionally, school and all school activities, have been canceled for Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, February 1.
Burnet CISD
Burnet CISD has canceled and rescheduled its Burnet High School soccer games originally scheduled for January 31.
Additionally, all classes in Burnet CISD have been canceled for Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, February 1. This cancelation includes all before and after school activities.
Cedars International Academy
Cedars International Academy will dismiss at the normal time Monday, Jan. 30, and is canceling all after school activities.
Additionally, classes are canceled for Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, Feb. 1.
Chaparral Star Academy
Chaparral Star Academy will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 1.
Child Inc. Head Start
Child Inc – Head Start will be closed Tuesday, January 31.
Comal ISD
All campuses and departments at Comal ISD will be closed Jan. 31 due to weather conditions.
Del Valle
Due to forecast inclement weather and out of an abundance of caution, all Del Valle ISD schools and offices are closed on Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, February 1.
Dime Box ISD
Dime Box School has made the decision to change from 2-hour delay to canceling school on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
Dripping Springs ISD
All after-school programs and meetings have been canceled at Dripping Springs ISD on January 30 and school has been canceled for January 31 and February 1.
Eanes ISD
All Eanes ISD schools, offices and Eanes Care, Early Education and After School Care will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 31 and Wednesday, Feb. 1, due to anticipated inclement weather.
All after-school events, practices and Community Ed courses are canceled Jan. 30.
Elgin ISD
Elgin ISD will cancel classes on Tuesday, Jan. 31 and Wednesday, Feb. 1. All extracurricular and after school activities will be canceled, as well.
Fayetteville ISD
The Junior High game tonight has been canceled due to possible weather conditions. The district is still monitoring weather conditions for tomorrow.
Flatonia ISD
Flatonia ISD has canceled classes for Wednesday, February 1.
Founders Classical Academy of Leander
Founders Classical Academy of Leander has canceled all after-school activities on Jan. 30. Additionally, on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, all classes and activities are canceled.
Georgetown ISD
All after-school activities on January 30 are canceled, however, childcare will still be available for families who are enrolled in the YMCA afterschool program until 5 p.m.
Georgetown ISD will also be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 31 and Wednesday, Feb. 1 due to the winter storm and predicted icy conditions.
Gonzales ISD
Gonzales ISD has delayed classes for Jan. 31 until 10 a.m. GISD buses will be delayed two hours from usual pick up time.
Granger ISD
Due to severe weather conditions, Granger ISD schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, Feb. 1.
Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas
Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas is canceling after-school clubs and activities on January 30.
Additionally, schools and offices are closed for students and staff tomorrow, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
Hays CISD
Hays CISD will have early release on Monday, January 30. High schools will dismiss at 1:00 p.m., middle schools will dismiss at 2:00 p.m., and elementary schools will dismiss at their normal time at 2:55 p.m. Transportation will run its bus schedules and provide service to bus riders at the early dismissal times. All afterschool activities are canceled for Monday.
On Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, February 1, all Hays CISD schools and offices will be closed. All after school activities are canceled Tuesday, January 31. School officials say after school activities may resume Wednesday, February 1. Check with your activity sponsor or coach.
Headwaters School
Headwaters School will be closed January 31 and February 1.
Huston-Tilloston University
Huston-Tillotson University will shift to remote operations and online classes for the remainder of Monday, Jan. 30, beginning at 3:30 p.m. On-campus events and activities will be remote, canceled, or rescheduled.
Hutto ISD
All after-school activities are canceled for January 30 as a safety precaution due to inclement weather. The district will also be closed on January 31 and February 1.
IDEA Public Schools Greater Austin Region
IDEA Public Schools Greater Austin Region has canceled all school operations, including after school, for Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, February 1.
Johnson City ISD
Johnson City ISD has canceled all classes and before and after school activities on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 due to winter weather conditions.
Killeen ISD
All after-school activities in Killeen ISD have been canceled for today, Monday, January 30. All campuses will dismiss at their normal time today.
Additionally, the school district has canceled classes and close district buildings on Tuesday, Jan. 31.
KIPP Texas-Austin Schools
All KIPP Texas-Austin schools will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 31 and Wednesday, Feb. 1.

Lago Vista ISD
Lago Vista ISD has canceled after school activities for Jan. 30.
Additionally, classes are canceled for Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 due to inclement weather conditions. All schools and offices will also be closed.
Lake Travis ISD
Lake Travis ISD has canceled all after school events on Monday, Jan. 30. Additionally, all schools have been canceled for Tuesday, Jan. 31 and Wednesday, Feb. 1.
There has not yet been a decision on schools for Feb. 2.
Leander ISD
Leander ISD has canceled classes and activities for Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 due to inclement weather.
Llano ISD
Llano ISD has canceled all after-school activities for Jan. 30, along with canceling the activity bus.
On Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, the school district’s campuses and offices will be closed, and all after-school activities will be canceled.
Lockhart ISD
Lockhart ISD will be closed Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, February 1 due to wintry weather. All activities are also canceled.
Manor ISD
All after-school activities are canceled on January 30, including athletics, extracurricular activities, and after-school care.
Additionally, all Manor ISD campuses and administrative offices will be closed, Tuesday, January 31 and February 1.
Marble Falls ISD
Marble Falls ISD says all activities and events scheduled for Monday, January 30, will be concluded no later than 5 p.m.
Additionally, all MFISD schools and school-related activities are canceled for Tuesday, Jan. 31 and Wednesday, Feb. 1.
Pflugerville ISD
Out of an abundance of caution, all after-school events are canceled on January 30. EDP remains open until 6:30 p.m., but the district is encouraging parents to pick up at their earliest convenience to allow those employees to get home before road conditions worsen.
All PfISD schools will be closed Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, February 1.
Rockdale ISD
Rockdale ISD will be closed on Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, February 1 due to inclement weather.
Round Rock ISD
All Round Rock ISD after-school extracurricular activities are canceled on January 30. Campus dismissal will take place as scheduled. People with children in the YMCA afterschool program should contact YMCA for information on schedule changes.
RRISD has canceled classes and before and after school activities for January 31 and February 1. All schools and offices will be closed.
The district will continue monitoring weather for Thursday and send communication to families if campus operations are impacted.
San Marcos CISD
San Marcos CISD is calling for anearly release today, January 30 and all campuses and offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 31. Campuses will dismiss at the following times on January 30:
High School – 1:15 PMMiddle School campuses – 1:40 PMElementary campuses and Bonham – 2 PM
All San Marcos CISDcampuses and offices will be closed on Jan. 31 and February 1. San Marcos CISD will continue to monitor the weather to determine opening campuses and offices on Thursday, February 2.
Smithville ISD
Smithville ISD has canceled all after-school activities for Jan. 30. Additionally, all schools will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 31 and Wednesday, Feb. 1.
St. Edward’s University
St. Edward’s University will shift to remote work and virtual learning Tuesday, Jan. 31 and Wednesday, Feb. 1. Essential on-campus personnel report to campus as scheduled.
Southwestern University
Southwestern University will remain closed on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
Taylor ISD
Taylor ISD will be closed on Wednesday, February 1.
Texas School for the Deaf
Due to winter storm warning, all after school activities were canceled for Jan. 30, and the school was closed on Jan. 31.
Additionally, TSD will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
Texas State Technical College
Texas State Technical College in East Williamson County in Hutto will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, due to winter weather. There will be no evening in-person classes.
Texas State University
Texas State San Marcos Campus and the Texas State Round Rock Campus will be closed Jan. 31 & Feb. 1.
Thrall ISD
Thrall ISD schools will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 31, and will have a two-hour delay for Wednesday, Feb. 1.
University of Texas at Austin
The University of Texas at Austin will close its Austin facilities on Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, February 1. All classes and events are canceled. UT shuttle buses will not run.
Valor Education campuses
Valor South Austin, Valor North Austin, and Valor Kyle have canceled after-school activities on Monday, Jan. 30 and will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 31 and Wednesday, Feb. 1.
Veritas Academy
Veritas Academy will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 1.
Wimberley ISD
Wimberley ISD is releasing all campuses at their normal times on January 30. However, all after-school activities and practices have been canceled.
The Kid Connection program at Jacob’s Well Elementary and Blue Hole Primary will be open as usual on Monday, but parents are encouraged to pick up their children as early as possible to ensure safe travel for you and our staff members.
All Wimberley ISD campuses and offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 31 and Wednesday, Feb. 1.
YMCA of Austin
All YMCA of Austin centerswill remain closed today, January 31. YMCA says it anticipates that center operations could be affected tomorrow as well.
