NORMAN, Okla. – Texas A&M’s Adela Cernousek was selected to compete at the 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup for Team International July 5-7 at the famed Irish Links at Lahinch Golf Club in Lahinch, Ireland, the organization announced Tuesday.
The Antibes, France, native will become the third golfer in program history to play at the Palmer Cup, joining Maddie Szeryk (2018) and Jennie Park (2023) as Aggies to participate in the prestigious event.
Cernousek has registered six top-10 finishes this season and leads the team with a 70.11 stroke average, which is on pace to shatter the current school record of 71.24 set by Maddie Szeryk during the 2016-17 campaign.
The junior is ranked No. 41 on the World Amateur Golf Ranking and No. 12 on the Scoreboard/Clippd Ranking. Cernousek also boasts a 12-5 collegiate record in match play, including a perfect 3-0 mark at NCAAs in her career.
The No. 13 Aggies return to the course May 6-8 when they host the Bryan Regional at Traditions Club. The NCAA selection show will take place on Wednesday, April 24 at 1 p.m. to see who will be filling out the field of the Bryan Regional.
About the Arnold Palmer Cup
The Arnold Palmer Cup was co-founded by Arnold Palmer and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and began at the Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Orlando, Fla., in 1997. The event is a Ryder Cup-style tournament featuring the top men’s and women’s university/college golfers matching the United States against a team of international players. The Palmer Cup has been played at some of the world’s greatest courses, including The Old Course at St. Andrews, The Royal County Down, Royal Portrush, Baltusrol, The Honors Course, and Cherry Hills. Beginning with the 2018 matches at Evian Resort Golf Club, the Palmer Cup is the only major tournament that features men and women playing side-by-side as partners.
