ALLEN, Texas — On Monday, the City of Allen broke ground on its new police headquarters.
The 101,000-square-foot, three-story facility will be located on Century Parkway, between Allen City Hall and the Allen post office.
“This facility reflects the trust our residents place in us, and we will continue working to uphold that trust every day,” Police Chief Steve Dye said.
The three-story facility will help officers respond faster to emergency calls and enhance public safety services around the growing city. It will also have a space for community events, a larger crime scene lab, and a performance center to promote officer wellness.

The project, funded by the 2023 Bond Election and federal grant funds, is expected to open in 2027.
The current police headquarters built in 1988 has undergone multiple expansions. Despite the renovations, the facility no longer meets the department’s needs, the city said.
“Our new police headquarters is a symbol of the strong partnership between the Allen Police Department and our community,” Chief Dye said.
